Bo was a lifelong resident of Brooksville, Ala. He was a 1962 graduate of J. B. Pennington High School and graduated from a two year trade school in Decatur specializing in sheet metal work. He started his career at Hayes Aircraft and after 40 years, retired from Pemco Industries, all the while working on aircraft. He loved to work 2nd shift so there was plenty of time for gardening in the mornings. He always grew more than the family needed because he liked to share his bounty with friends in the community and at church.

Bo was a member of Blountsville United Methodist Church, where he found his beloved community of faith. He enjoyed helping with all the community outreach projects and keeping the church facility in good repair.

He was also a member of the Blountsville Historical Society and spent many hours helping to develop the Blountsville Historical Park.
