Wreck claims life of Locust Fork teen


A single-vehicle accident on Saturday, Jan. 12, claimed the life of a Locust Fork teen. Trenton Sigafoose, who is described on the school website as having a quiet, gentle spirit, was seriously injured when the 2004 Ford Expedition he was driving left the road and struck a tree on Ala 79.

The Alabama State Trooper’s office reports that Sigafoose was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred. He was transported to UAB Hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The 1:55 p.m. accident occurred two miles south of Locust Fork. No further information is available and Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the wreck.
