Wildcats are county champs

The Hayden Wildcats are Blount County varsity volleyball champs. Seeded number one, Hayden defeated Cleveland 2-0 and Appalachian 2-0 on Monday night. Appalachian emerged from the loser’s bracket to challenge Hayden again for the championship. Hayden defeated Appalachian 2-0 again on Tuesday to claim the championship.

Players named to the All-County team are: Cassidy Riddle (Locust Fork); Hailey Head (Southeastern); Tara Randolph (Cleveland); Kylee Johnson, Abbi Cruz, Avia Watts (J.B. Pennington); Mekenzie Standridge, Madison Brooks, Lacey Floyd (Susan Moore); Phoebe Wallace, Ashley Whittington, Anna Grace Dean, Kara Cornelius (Appalachian); Lakelee Tumlin, Brenna Hays, Mallie Williams, Lindsey Smith, Isabelle Johnson (Hayden). Hayden’s Harlee Kate Reid was named tournament most valuable player.
