What is it?

Since childhood, Andall Wood has had a keen interest in fossils. He treks the hills of Blount and surrounding counties in his spare time, looking for prehistoric images preserved in stone. He once found what he believes to be petrified remains of a pterodactyl that lived millions of years ago. He has not specifically identified his latest find pictured here, but believes it may be part of a tree from as far back as 700 million years ago. He invites anyone who can nail down the identity and age of this specimen to contact him at (205) 274-4634. - Wallace Todd
