The visiting Locust Fork Hornets took an early lead but Weaver reeled off 41 unanswered points to take a 41-21 win last Friday night in Anniston.
Locust Fork got on the board early in the first quarter as Drew Rogers busted in from 6 yards out. Jose Hernandez added the extra point and the Hornets led 7-0.
Unfortunately, that proved to be a wake-up call to the Bearcats as they countered with three first-quarter touchdowns on runs of 60 and 92 yards and a 25-yard pass.
The lead grew to 41-7 before Locust Fork got a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns on a 3-yard run by Rogers and a 12-yard run by freshman Ben Oden.
The Hornets rushed for 190 yards but completed just 2 of 4 passes for 11 yards.
Rogers led the Hornets with 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 19 carries while Hunter Neely added 22 yards on eight attempts.
Defensively, Rogers had 12 tackles and recovered a fumble while D.J. Umland had a tackle for loss. Brody McCay had a pair of stops and recovered a fumble.
Locust Fork (2-4 overall, 2-1 in 3A Region 6) travels to Holly Pond (4-1, 1-1) for a huge region match-up this week.
