‘Warming centers’ set up locally

Overnight shelter will be provided at two local churches for persons who need a warm place to sleep during the approaching period of unusually cold weather. The two churches are World Outreach Center in Oneonta and Locust Fork Baptist Church in Locust Fork. World Outreach Center will provide heated areas for overnight sleeping during the hours of 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. (only) each day Wed., Jan. 6, through Sunday, Jan. 10. Locust Fork Baptist will provide sleeping space in its fellowship hall Thurs. Jan. 7, through Sunday Jan. 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. (only) each day.

No meals are provided, though beverages will be available. Users are expected to furnish their own bedding: cots, sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, etc. Limited volunteer assistance will be available. No transportation has been arranged as of this writing. For further information, call 274-2115.
