VIOLET COBB CORNELIUS, age 90, of Oneonta, passed from this walk of life on Thursday, April 22, 2021. She was a lifelong member of the Christian Mission Alliance Church and served as pastor’s wife for 32 years. She enjoyed working with her flowers and had the greenest thumb anyone has ever had. Violet is preceded in death by her husband Grant Cornelius Jr; parents Minnie Cobb and Elbridge Cobb; siblings Pansy (Tom Sr.) Peck, Bud (Ruth) Cobb; mother- and father-in-law Jewel (Grant Sr.) Cornelius; sister-in-law Ellen Morris; brother-in-law Kenneth (Jane) Cornelius.
She is survived by her children Jan (Bill) Serena, Debbie (Grant) Ratliff, Barbara (Sandy) Lemley, Connie (Carson) Henley, Jon (Kelly) Cornelius, and Christi (Kyle) Campbell; grandchildren Bill Jr. (Debbie) Serena, Tami (Ron) Brown, Bryan (Marla) Serena, Tim Serena, Jonathan (Avis) Ratliff, Jenna (Brandon) Harper, Britt (Ashley) Lemley, Amanda Lemley, Chris Lemley, Lea (Kerth) Grant, Bethany (Hunter) Sims, Caleb (Mary Katherine) Henley, Andrew Henley, Kyle (Lauren) Cornelius, Jake (Dakota) Cornelius, Kara Cornelius, Ryan (Kristen) Campbell, Jon-David Campbell, and Abby Campbell; great-grandchildren Joshua Serena, Alyssa Serena, Andrew Serena, Cody Serena, Jacob Serena, Maya Serena, Ashlynn Brown, Noah Brown, Nathan Brown, Bryson Serena, Ella Serena, Troy Serena, Brody Serena, Emerson Serena, Levi Harper, Lynnlee Harper, Levi Lemley, Daxton Sisemore, Lilly Lemley, Anne-Marie Sims, Ruby Sims, James Sims, Liam Grant, Lylah Cornelius, Ella Orr, Millie Keith, Preston Cornelius, Raelynn Cornelius, Sophia Campbell, and Aurora Campbell; a host of nieces and nephews; her siblings Rose Paul and Beulah Porter.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 1, at 4 p.m., from the Lemley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carson Henley officiating. Burial will follow at Easley Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Serving as pallbearers will be Britt Lemley, Jonathan Ratliff, Tim Serena, Kyle Cornelius, Jon-David Campbell, and Caleb Henley.
