Operation Grateful Heart Blount County continues to make plans for the upcoming 2019 Blount County Veterans Parade, which will take place on Oneonta’s streets this Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m.

There is still time to enter as a participant, but the registration form must be turned in by Thursday. Veterans and military groups are encouraged to enter, as are churches, bands, clubs, and civic organizations. Registration forms can be picked up at the Blount County Memorial Museum and submitted there as well.

All veterans are encouraged to participate, but Vietnam Veterans will be this year’s grand marshals and should contact museum curator Amy Rhudy at 205-625-6905 to register.

The night before the parade, on Friday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m., a dinner will be held at the Oneonta Worship Center, 721 4th Ave E, Oneonta. Tickets are free for veterans and their families. They can be picked up at the museum.

Operation Grateful Heart Blount County is also spearheading programs at local schools to honor Veterans Day. The schedule is below.
