The theme for this year’s National Nursing Home Week at TLC was “It’s a small world with a big heart – taking you back in time.” The theme was chosen to honor those citizens of any age with physical or intellectual disabilities who reside in a skilled nursing facility. The facility was decorated with memorabilia from 1910 to 1990 during the week.
The residents and staff enjoyed hall parades, hat-making, a car show, music, games and prizes, and a 12- foot-long banana split during the celebration.
TLC provides short-term care and long-term care, along with the three types of services: skilled nursing and/or medical care; rehabilitation due to injury, disability, or illness; and long-term health-related care due to a mental or physical condition. The facility now offers a new area for physical, occupational, and speech therapy. TLC is located at 212 Ellen Street, Oneonta, phone 625-3520, or visit the website at www.tlcnursingcenter.com.
