Three still hospitalized after head-on collision

According to Snead assistant police chief Joseph Blackwood, as of Tuesday, three teenagers are still in the hospital after a head-on collision occurred on Pearman Road in Snead on Sunday.

The two-vehicle accident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. All those involved were teenagers. One car contained five occupants, all Susan Moore High School students, according to Blackwood, and the other vehicle, a Jeep, had one occupant who was from out of town.

All of the Susan Moore students were transported to the hospital, four by ambulance and one by helicopter, but Blackwood could not provide any information on the extent of injuries. The out-of-town teen was taken to the hospital by private vehicle. The accident is still under investigation.
