In a continued effort to enhance the vitality and unique character of the community through beautification, promotion, and development of the beautiful, historic downtown, the Oneonta Downtown District will hold the second Third Thursday Sip + Stroll tomorrow, Oct. 17.
The October Sip + Stroll is slated to provide a fun and festive environment that will be centered around the fall and Halloween theme. Many downtown businesses will stay open until 8 p.m. Participating businesses include Brushfire Pottery, Chop, Cosa Bella Boutique, Grapes & Hops, Hicks Floral Design, The Makers Downtown, Neely School of Music and Arts, The Nines, The Pink Porch, and Provence Gifts.
For those who are not familiar with the Third Thursdays Sip + Stroll, patrons may make a one-time cup purchase for the evening for $5 at any of the participating businesses and then visit each of the other locations for a complimentary beverage and light snack. A portion of the cup sales will go to support the American Breast Cancer Foundation, as October is breast cancer awareness month.
This month, ODD will be hosting a raffle event and offering a special prize. To enter the raffle, simply purchase a ticket at any of the night’s participating businesses and then visit at least five. Be sure to leave your ticket at the last business you visit, and you will be entered in the raffle. The winner will be chosen by a random drawing.
October’s event will also bring a spooky addition with the Oneonta Downtown District’s First Haunted Tour, as well as a Sip + Stroll costume contest. Participating businesses will take pictures of their favorite costume of the evening. After the event, the ODD Facebook community will vote for the winner who will receive a surprise gift. The haunted tour will include ghost stories inspired by the history of downtown. It is sure to be a frightfully good time, so be sure to join the fun and explore the spookier side of downtown.
