Third Thursday welcomes Santa


 

 

November’s Third Thursday Sip + Stroll is tomorrow, Nov.21. During the 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. event, patrons will be able to enjoy various flavors of hot cocoa, mulling spices, cookies, and other Santa-themed treats as they stroll downtown visiting participating shops in search of a good deal. Those craving something a little stronger can imbibe in Grinch Juice, Goat Island Blood on tap, spiked apple cider, eggnog with cheer, wine, and hot butterbeer.

With Christmas just around the corner, be sure to visit Miller’s Soda Shoppe and drop off letters to Santa in the Oneonta Business Association’s North Pole Express mailbox. Next, stop by The Maker’s Downtown for a special OBA meet and greet with Santa Claus. Bring your camera to capture those special moments as friends, family – or maybe even you – sit on Santa’s lap.

This month’s charity is The Hope House.With the purchase of a $5 raffle ticket you get an entry to win a special prize from the downtown district merchants while helping The Hope House Christmas program. Raffle ticket purchases includes a free Sip + Stroll cup to sample all of the delectable beverages along the way. People will also have an opportunity to sign up to sponsor/shop for their Christmas program.

Downtown’s newest merchant, Battle Axe, which offers a unique and entertaining axe throwing experience, will participate for the first time. Be sure to drop by, check out their venue, and book your own axe throwing adventure.
