SYLVIA ‘KAY’ CORNELIUS, 80, Blountsville, left this world peacefully for a better place Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, surrounded by her family, in her home, just as she had hoped she would.
Her last journey took her back to those who had preceded her in death. Gleefully waiting for her were her dad and mom, John Van and Virginia Coats, her brother Kenny, and her sister Sheila. Her son Chris “Bubba” Swadley was surely dancing with joy to receive her back into his bear hugging arms. She had always looked forward to reuniting with her many loved ones and furbabies across the rainbow bridge.
Those of us she left behind include her husband of 34 years Bob Cornelius and their children Jeff (Kat) Cornelius, Todd (Kim) Cornelius, and Robin (Keith) Akins. She loved her grandchildren (and all children) above all. They include Brittany, Samantha, Rhiannon, Havinne, Caleb, and great-grands Zayne and Lucas. These, along with a host of nieces and nephews, wonderful friends, and an amazing church family, will forever miss her grit and loving spirit.
“Tutu” was a spicy little angel with an infectious laugh and a fierce spine. You always knew where you stood with “Ms. Kay.”
We will have a celebration of her life on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, at Palisades Park in Oneonta. Please join us in the D.S. Loyd building between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to share memories and love with our family.
