Sweet surprise

My wife and I made a trip to Allgood recently to sign our income tax returns. I am recovering from a blood clot in the leg, so I traveled in the back seat with one leg on a pillow.

On our way home we stopped by Walmart, and while my wife shopped, I sat in the car with the back windows open. Suddenly a young lady appeared at my window and said “I know this sounds crazy, but would you like a nutty buddy frozen ice cream cone? I was passing by your car, saw you sitting in the back and thought you might like a treat.” I was surprised and said yes, I would like to have one. She tore open the package she had just purchased and gave me the delicious treat. I offered to pay her, but she said, “No, just enjoy,” and was gone.

I realized I didn’t even ask for her name. Hospitality is alive and well! Perhaps I should have framed the wrapper with the caption: “Visited by an Angel, 3/24/14.”

They don’t all have wings, you know! God bless.
