Students help Haitians

Smiling Oneonta students display some of the disaster relief medical kits they prepared for victims of the earthquate in Haiti. Oneonta Elementary PTO, Oneonta High School SGA, and Lester Memorial United Methodist Church cooperated in completing the project. LMUMC missions chairman Marla Smith first prepared a handout to distribute throughout the church, and a member took it a step further to Oneonta Elementary School students. PTO president Jodie Wilson gathered the bags from the elementary school. The SGA joined in, and over 315 bags from the elementary and SGA students and 787 total from the church and the concerned community were prepared and taken to the distribution center to be sent to Haiti.
