PENELOPE LORRAINE MEADOWS of Oneonta was inducted into the Alpha Chi Tau Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Wallace State Community College on Sept. 29. Daughter of Linda Meadows and the late Jack Meadows of Candler, she is majoring in sociology/social science. Phi Theta Kappa was established in 1918 by two-year college presidents and is the oldest and most prestigious honor society serving two-year colleges around the world. Students must rank in the top 20 percent of the class to be invited to membership in Phi Theta Kappa and must maintain high academic standing during their enrollment in the two-year college.
