It was a wild, wild night in Odenville. St. Clair County made plenty of mistakes but the Saints rallied for a 35-21 win as Hayden had a pair of touchdowns taken off the board.
Hayden head coach Keith Register was ejected in the fourth quarter after a pair of unsportsmanlike-conduct penalties were called on the Wildcats.
Garrett Torbert recovered a St. Clair fumble on the opening kickoff at the Saint 35. Hayden cashed in on the short field when Colton Shirley recovered a Wildcat fumble in the end zone.
St. Clair again fumbled the kickoff and Jeremy Stanfield recovered at the Saint 39.
Adam Payne scored two plays later but the points came off the board on a holding penalty. Eddie Bolton appeared to score for the Wildcats but, again, a penalty wiped out the points.
It was that kind of night for the Wildcats. Penalties repeatedly killed Hayden momentum on offense and the Saints built a 35-7 lead before the Wildcats got on the board twice late in the fourth quarter.
Josh Duncan scored on a 50-yard run and Levi Snider added a 4-yard run.
Bolton led the Wildcats with 85 yards on 17 carries while Duncan had 84 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.
Reid Trimble had 10 tackles while Jordyn Witt had eight stops. Stanfield and Torbert had fumble recoveries.
Hayden (0-9) closes the season at Curry (1-8) this week.
