Susan Moore High School football fans witnessed a once in a lifetime event Friday night as members of the Patriot Parachute Team (PPT) parachuted the game ball onto the field. The team, whose mission is to raise awareness for veterans transitioning into civilian life and inspiring the next generation to do great things and never quit, spent much of Friday with Susan Moore students.

At the pre-game meal, players had the opportunity to hear from PPT about maintaining pride in everything they do.

Veterans and first responders from both stands were asked to make their way to the sideline to demonstrate a sense of unity and to honor those who lost their lives during the tragic events of 9/11, as well as those fighting for our freedom.

Everyone then witnessed parachuting at its best. With red and blue smoke filling the air, the team member made his way onto the field, with the American flag flowing gracefully during his descent, to deliver the game ball.

In addition to paying tribute to the 9/11 victims, this event helped reiterate the need to respect and honor our law enforcement, military, and country.
