At the annual Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police Conference in Montgomery, Snead Police Chief Stephen Gunn received recognition and a certificate for completing the Certified Law Enforcement Executive Program.
The director of continuing education and outreach at Jacksonville State and UPACE Partner presented Gunn with the certificate and said, “On behalf of the University Partnership for Alabama Continuing Education, and the Alabama Association of Police Chiefs, I take great pleasure in announcing that Chief Stephen Gunn of the Snead Police Department has successfully completed 80 hours of the Certified Law Enforcement Executive Program.
“This is a mark of success for Chief Gunn, as well as for the Town of Snead, for its support of the advancement of law enforcement management principles.” University Partnership and the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police jointly administer the program, consisting of specialized, executive-level training.
With the purpose of making continuing education programs available for agencies and associations across the state, University Partnership is made up of Jacksonville State University, The University of North Alabama, and Troy University Dothan.
Courses included in the program include Managing for Effectiveness, Dealing Effectively with the External Environment, Effective Management and Supervisory Techniques for the Police Executive, Strategic Planning for Your Department, and Generational Differences and Assessments.
