SHIRLEY ANN WASHINGTON was called to her heavenly home on Jan. 29, 2024. She was born in Oneonta, Ala. to the late Frank and Thennie (Payne) Warren on Sep. 3, 1948, and was one of nine children. In her early years, she accepted Christ and was baptized into Church of God in Christ in Oneonta, Ala.
Shirley attended Southside High School in Oneonta. She received post-secondary education at Gadsden State Community College where she studied Cosmetology. She worked as a self-employed Cosmetologist for over 20 years. Shirley enjoyed spending time with family and friends and enjoyed watching tennis. She was a huge fan of Venus and Serena Williams.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her passing to her special companion, Thomas Easter, her children, Mario Warren of Birmingham, Cecilia Parker of Atlanta, and Angela Washington of Gadsden, a host of six grandchildren, and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her mother, Thennie Warren, father, Frank Warren, sister Pattie Warren, and brothers Willie Lee and Ronnie Warren.
The family received friends on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at Lemley Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. A funeral service was held in the Chapel beginning at 2 p.m. with Pastor Rodney Franklin, Sr. presiding. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
