District 11 Rep. Randall Shedd (R – Fairview), representing central and northern portions of Blount County, has been appointed a member of the Republican Caucus Steering Committee of the Alabama House of Representatives, a significant leadership post in the caucus structure.
The announcement was made last week by House Majority Leader Nathaniel Ledbetter (R – Rainsville). Ledbetter said the caucus steering committee helps set legislative priorities, recommends policies the GOP should support, and coordinates activities on the House floor.
“During his time in the House, Rep. Shedd has set himself apart as a blunt talker, an innovative thinker, and a strong leader, all of which are qualities our steering committee members should possess, so I am happy to appoint him to this important panel.”
“As a member of the…committee, I will continue working to give rural Alabama a strong and more effective voice in the Legislature, and I’ll promote the conservative beliefs, ideals, and policies that the citizens of my district embrace,” Shedd said. “I appreciate this expression of confidence in my abilities as House Republicans work to create a more prosperous and better-educated Alabama.”
