See displays at museum

The Blount County Memorial Museum is featuring new displays of antique cookie jars, Barbie dolls, handmade hats and scarfs, sock monkeys, girl scout items, fabric post cards, egg beaters, and Champion Mine items.

The Blount County Heritage Book is for sale at the museum for $70 and $75 if mailed. Other books available are Profile of Gabriel Hanby; Blount County Glimpses from the Past; Cleveland, Alabama; Last Stop, Oneonta; POW Camp; Blounts-ville Picture Book; and Forrest-Streight Raid.

Ready for decorating and gifting are Christmas ornaments bearing scenes of Blount County painted by Blountsville artist Betty Alexander. They too can be had at the museum. Come and see!

The Rose Garden Club of Oneonta has a “Children’s Christmas Tree” at the museum. Members are asking for clothing and toys. All gifts will go to Blount County Department of Human Resources for Blount County children.

Museum hours are Tuesday through Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
