Season ends for Hornets, Panthers, Tigers

After many tough battles at regionals, softball season has ended for Locust Fork, Cleveland, and J.B. Pennington.

Glencoe shut out Locust Fork 0-6 in the Lady Hornets first 3A West Central Regional Tournament matchup. Locust Fork was unable to find a rhythm and took one final loss to Piedmont 1-6. They finished their season with a 15-10 record.

Cleveland was defeated by Sulligent and Ranburne 0-10 at the 2A West Central Regional Tournament. The Lady Panthers ended the year 12-16.

J.B. Pennington began their 3A West Central Regional Tournament journey with two victories. The Tigers started off strong behind the pitching of Alanna Goble who threw a perfect game, striking out all 15 hitters she faced as they shutout Fultondale 10-0. Then they defeated Pleasant Valley 4-2.

The Lady Tigers took a tough 2-3 loss against Oakman, and finished their season after a 0-2 loss to Pleasant Valley. Goble led Pennington in hits during the tournament (4-13, 3 RBIs). Alia Wyatt went 4-12 with 2 RBIs and McKenzie Chappell was 4-12 with 2 RBIs. Pennington had an incredible season with 29 wins and seven losses.
