Search for new EMA director continues

Resumes are still being accepted to fill the position of Blount County Emergency Management Agency director. The process began late last year with the announcement of the impending retirement of current director Max Armstrong, who is expected to leave the job in late February or March. The job was first advertised in early January.

County administrator Zac Marsh said a number of resumes have already been received and that they will continue to be accepted through Jan. 31. Marsh said finalists will be selected and scheduled for interviews by Blount County commissioners and the commission chairman during February, with a hiring decision made following the interview process.

As of yesterday ( Tuesday), 16 applications had been received for the position.
