Each year the Oneonta Rotary Club awards its Kurt K. Larsen “Service Above Self” Scholarship to students in Oneonta or Blount County schools who demonstrate a commitment of service to their community. This year, the club was able to award two $2,000 scholarships. Recipients Courtney Kramer and Tara Randolph truly embody the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.”
Kramer is a 2018 graduate of J.B. Pennington High School where she excelled in band and participated in many service projects, including the Big Brother/Big Sister program. She plans to attend UAB in the fall.
Randolph is a 2018 graduate of Cleveland High School where she participated in Big Brother/Big Sister and was a state champion track star. She currently attends Wallace State and is working locally.
