This free admission, family event is definitely one you will not want to miss. There is fun to be had by all.
Registration is $100 per team. Monetary prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place winners, as well as the People’s Choice Award. To date, there are 15 teams registered, and it is expected that more teams will enter the competition.
The 2017 first place honors went to the Ace Hardware BBQ team.
Those not cooking can purchase Pig Bucks beginning at just $3. The Pig Bucks will allow people to buy BBQ samples, smoked chicken, slabs of ribs, and whole Boston butts.
Last year’s event was a huge success, and Terry Sligh Chevrolet wants this year’s event to be an even bigger success.
Andrew Sligh said, “One-hundred percent of the money raised will benefit the Blount County Education Foundation and the Oneonta Foundation for Educational
Resources. It will be a 50/50 split of the money. We not only need teams, we need the public to come out and support this worthy cause.”
Whether you are a professional or backyard BBQ warrior, grab your grill, cook for a cause, and enjoy this fun, light-hearted but fierce BBQ competition.
