Redskins begin basketball


Football season is officially over for the Redskins, which means all focus is on basketball. Oneonta hosted last week, and both boys and girls won their four games.

It began last Tuesday with a 52-26 Lady Redskin win over Altamont. Baylor Phillips led Oneonta with 15 points. Britney Chavez had 13 points and four steals. Teagan Hartman had 11 points, five rebounds and four steals. Britton Pass contributed four points and nine rebounds.

The boys then earned a huge 80-48 victory. Brandon Howard led the Redskins with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds, as well as one assist. Jacob Green scored 13 points and had two rebounds, two steals, one assist, and one block. Eric Moore added nine points and six rebounds. Deondre Elliot had eight points, four assists, three rebounds, and two steals. Daniel McCary had eight points, five rebounds, and one steal.

Last Friday, the domination continued with wins against Fairview.

The Lady Redksins came away with a 59-51 victory over the Aggies. Savannah Robertson led Oneonta with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Baylor Phillips had 11 points and four rebounds. Britney Chavez scored eight points, as well as added eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Teagan Hartman contributed seven points and six rebounds.

The boys continued the winning with a 65-51 victory. Eric Moore filled the stat sheet with a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds, as well as two assists, two steals, and one block. He was 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Brandon Howard scored 18 points and had six rebounds, two steals, and one assist. Deondre Elliott had eight points, four rebounds, four steals, and one assist.
