Cream Cheese Banana Nut Bread

¾ cup butter, softened
1 block cream cheese, softened
2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
3 cups self-rising flour
3 very ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
1 tsp vanilla extract

Beat butter and cream cheese with an electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating just until blended after each addition. Gradually add flour to butter mixture, beating at low speed just until blended. Stir in mashed bananas, pecans, and vanilla. Spoon batter into two greased and floured 8×4 inch loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour or until a long wooden pick comes out clean. May need to be covered with foil for the last 15 minutes to prevent browning. Cool bread on wire racks before slicing.
