Slush Punch

3 cups sugar
3 cups hot water
1 package lemon Jell-O®
3 cups cold water
1 large can pineapple juice
¾ cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice
½ ounce pure almond extract
2 two-liter bottles ginger ale

Dissolve sugar and Jell-O in three cups of hot water. Add remaining ingredients. Divide evenly into two zip lock bags (gallon size) and freeze. To serve, thaw until it starts to get slushy and add one bottle of ginger ale per zip lock bag of punch.

My mom and I have made this punch for many wedding and baby showers. It’s also great at holiday gatherings. It’s always a favorite. My son and my dad love it, so mom usually makes a recipe and freezes it in smaller bags so she can serve them a few cups when they want it. Just another Grandma spoiling tactic I guess.
