With the 4th of July coming up it’s time to start making homemade ice cream! You can use this recipe as a base and make just about any ice cream flavor that you want. One year at the office we implemented ice cream Fridays. We had a list of flavors that all employees wrote suggestions on and we went through the list making all kinds of flavors. Some of our favorite variations

Strawberry, blueberry, or peach: Blend the fruit up with the milk for the recipe and add it to all the other ingredients.

Butter pecan: Toast pecans in a skillet with some butter and add to all other ingredients.

Chocolate chip cookie dough: Chop up a package of chocolate chip cookie dough and add to all other ingredients.

Peanut butter pie: Microwave a small jar of peanut butter and mix with the milk in a blender and add to all other ingredients. Serve with graham crackers sprinkled on top and Cool Whip if desired.

Banana pudding: Blend bananas in a blender with the milk and add to other ingredients. Serve with crushed vanilla wafers on top.

Coconut: Use coconut cream pudding mix instead of vanilla and mix in shredded coconut with all other ingredients.

Caramel: Mix a jar (or 2) of caramel sauce with the milk in a blender and add with all other ingredients.

Lemon pie: Use lemon pudding mix instead of vanilla and add some fresh squeezed lemon juice and lemon zest. Serve with graham cracker crumbs sprinkled on top and Cool Whip if desired.

This is just a few of the flavors we did. The possibilities are endless!
