6 cups whole milk
1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed
1 ½ cups Ghirardelli milk chocolate
1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/8 tsp salt
Combine all ingredients in a large pot over low heat for 30 to 40 minutes. Transfer to crock pot to stay warm. Add milk to adjust chocolate preference.
With Christmas parades coming soon I thought it an excellent time for a hot chocolate recipe. Sure, you can mix a store-bought packet with hot water or milk, but it doesn’t even compare to homemade. This recipe makes 8 cups and can be doubled or tripled if making it for a holiday party or large group.
