REBA TIDMORE ALLRED, age 85, Locust Fork, passed away May 5, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born June 9, 1935, to the late William Orville and Zuma Reid Tidmore.
Reba married John D. Allred Dec. 18, 1953. Reba was an excellent homemaker and worked many years as a florist in Tarrant and co-owned a quilt shop in Oneonta for a time. In their 67 years together Reba and John built a beautiful life with family and loved ones. Reba was known for her love of cooking, making beautiful quilts, and her welcoming and loving nature.
Reba is survived by her husband John; son David (Teresa) Allred of Trussville; daughters Donna (Terry) Nickerson of Cleveland and Debra (Gary) Allred-Halpern of Calera. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who all loved her. Reba was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, her sister Glenda, whom she considered her own daughter, and a grandbaby Jenny A. Hamilton.
The funeral was held at Lemley Funeral Home in Oneonta Friday, May 7, at 3 p.m.; visitation with the family began at 2 p.m. Burial was at Bethlehem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
