I would like to express my appreciation to three citizens of Blount County and the companies they represent and to a family friend for the help they provided me concerning the repair of my grandfather’s flower vase at Blount Memory Gardens. Thank you: Dale Fails, Independent Contractor; Kelsey Cornelius, Premium Monument Company; Greg Long, Lemley Chapel and Crematory; and Mildred Lowry, a family friend living in Blount County.
I am a 75-year-old retiree living in Murfreesboro, Tenn., outside of Nashville. My grandfather was the caretaker in the 1970s for Blount Memory Gardens, formerly Blount Memorial Gardens. He and my grandmother are buried there. I maintain and place flowers on their graves. Recently, Mildred Lowry, a close family friend who keeps me aware of any changes to their grave site and occasionally looks after the flowers, informed me the flower vase needed repair.
I contacted Dale Fails, an independent contractor, employed to maintain the mowing of the cemetery, who was nice enough to take the vase to Kelsey Cornelius at Premium Monument Co. The vase was repaired quickly and Dale reset the vase on my grandparent’s marker.
Thank you to Greg Long, owner of Lemley Chapel Funeral Home and Blount Memory Gardens, for the excellent care of the cemetery! My grandfather took great pride and loved maintaining the cemetery before his passing. Thank you again to these four individuals for your caring and professional service. My grandparents would be appreciative and I am sincerely thankful.
I spent many summers in Blount County visiting with my grandparents in the 1950s and early ‘60s and have beautiful and lasting memories there. These memories are reinforced by these individuals and their selfless care for my grandparent’s resting place.
