I’m writing in response to the front page display of the “Black Lives Matter” march in our city of Oneonta.

It is my opinion that whoever approved this march was ill-advised.

I realize that it was a peaceful march, but who could guarantee that it would be peaceful? With the emphasis on “Black lives matter,” which can hardly be called a peaceful organization.

It seems to me that this march was in response to national “peaceful” marches across the nation that were anything but peaceful.

Surely the leaders of this local march were aligning with national marches that were demanding the dismantling of the police department in every city.

To me this was an affront to our good Oneonta Police Department. What did they think of this march? I didn’t see any of them participating.

I will close as I started, this was an ill-advised march.
