Put on your old gray bonnet

Or your new, flaming red one, if you prefer, and come to Blount County Memorial Museum Wednesday, March 23, at 10:30 a.m. for Patricia Farrell’s progam on the “History of Hats.” You have to wear a hat to get in. Besides Farrell’s hat collection – a few of which are seen here in the display case behind her – she’ll be accompanied by a parade of several of her Pacesetter friends from Hoover – all tricked out in their favorite hats. No joke, ladies: to come to this gala, you’re requested to be a part of the program. Wear your favorite – or your most outlandish – or your most sentimental – or your most inspired creation – but wear it with “Hat-itude” and don’t miss this scene of the season. – Ron Gholson
