Summer is here and the heat is rolling into Blount County. School is out, the weather is nice, and vacation is on the brain. It’s the season to dive in – the pool, that is. Blountsville Municipal Pool, Oneonta City Pool, and Spring Valley Beach (SVB) are open and ready to help you and your family take advantage of this beautiful season.
Blountsville Pool (below) is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. General admission for children 4 and under is $3; for ages 5 and up, admission is $6. Individual and family summer passes are available starting at $50. They are now offering swimming lessons for $40 per child, and water aerobics on Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for $5 per class. Spring Valley Beach in Blountsville is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets range from $18.52 plus tax (age 3 to 48 inches tall, and seniors) to $23.15 plus tax (48 inches tall and up). Children 2 and under get in free with a paid adult. Season passes are available. Family rates are $59.95 plus tax per person with a minimum purchase of two passes – one of which must be a parent – and individual rates are $75 plus tax per person. General admission parking is free, but SVB also offers poolside parking for $10 while space is available. Any season pass holder of at least 19 years of age may also add season poolside parking for $25 per driver. Call 429-2075 for more information, or to book reservations.
