Pinson pounds Hayden

The Pinson Valley Indians used a solid running game and four Hayden turnovers to take a 44-6 victory over the visiting Wildcats last Friday night.

Hayden put together 151 yards of offense – 122 on the ground; 29 through the air – but it wasn’t enough to overcome three fumbles and an interception.

The only Hayden score came on a 12-yard pass from Tim Curry to freshman running back Leonard Johnson late in the third quarter.

Pinson’s Nick Gibson had 171 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries.

Dylan Putman led the Wildcats with 42 yards on 14 carries.

Cody Colvin and Reid Trimble had fumble recoveries for the Wildcats.

Hayden (0-4, 0-3 in 5A Region 6) hosts rival Corner this week.
