HALLI WILLIAMSON and VICTORIA WHITED are recipients of four-year University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Golden Excellence scholarships. Halli’s scholarship is valued up to $24,000. Daughter of Shaid Williamson and Rachel Tressler, she is a senior at Oneonta High School, where she is a member of the National Honor Society, OHS Singers, Danceline, and Mu Alpha Theta honor society. She has not declared a major. Victoria’s scholarship is valued up to $12,000. She is the daughter of Alvin and Denise Turner. Also a senior at Oneonta High School, she is a member of the National Honor Society, the Redskin Marching Band, and Mu Alpha Theta honor society. At UAB, she will major in criminal justice. DUSTIN GOBLE of Blountsville and KELLIE HELTON, JANIE WALDEN, and BRITTANY WHALEY, all of Oneonta, are among the 71 students at Snead State Community College who were inducted Feb. 15 into the Theta Iota chapter of Phi Theta Kappa during the spring 2011 induction ceremony. MELISSA PRICE, a junior, Oneonta, was among students at The University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa who were selected to serve on the 2011 Alabama Panhellenic Association’s Judicial Board and Sigma Rho Chi. Melissa is on Sigma Rho Chi’s recruitment team. MALLORY RAY of Hayden is a member of the Wallace State Community College women’s basketball team which is in Salina, Kansas, this week for the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I national tournament. This is the first time since the 2002-03 season that the Wallace State team has competed in this national tournament.
