BLOUNT STUDENTS HONORED include CODY KING of Cleveland, who was among students named to the fall 2008 president’s list for having 12 or more semester hours and a 4.0 grade-point-average at Calhoun Community College; DAVID A. COLE, who was on the dean’s list for academic achievement for Strayer University of Washington, DC/ Birmingham campus; JOSHUA K. HULLETT of Oneonta, who received his bachelor of science degree in education at the end of the fall 2008 semester at Mississipi State University; and KAYLA THORNTON of Cleveland, who received a four-year UAB collegiate honors scholarship valued up to $20,000. Cole, a 2002 graduate of Susan Moore High School, is the son of Karon S. Bailey and the stepson of the late Louie W. Bailey. Thornton is the daughter of Jay and Karen Thornton of Hayden. She is a senior at Hayden High School, where she is a member of the junior and senior Beta clubs, FCCLA, and the Hayden dance line. JORDAN D. MOODY, PFC with the Army National Guard, has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. During the nine weeks’ training, he received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, basic combat skills, battlefield operations and tactics, use of various weapons and weapons defenses, and Army history, core values, and traditions. A 2006 graduate of Hayden High School, Moody is the son of William Moody of Hayden.
