Pennington destroys Douglas



The J.B. Pennington Tigers took little mercy on visiting Douglas last Thursday, wiping out the 5A Eagles 57-7 on the final night of the regular season.

The Tigers had leads of 22-0 after one quarter, 36-0 at the half and 50-0 after three quarters.

The Tiger offense put together 334 total yards on the night, including 244 on the ground.

Noah Allison completed 9 of 22 passing for 90 yards, including a 5-yard touchdown pass to Jalon Bullard. The other eight completions went to Cole Littleton for 85 yards.

Ten different Tigers had carries in the game and six scored touchdowns.

Jalon Bullard led the Tigers with 57 yards and a touchdown on just six carries while Sheldon Blythe rushed for 37 yards and a touchdown on five carries. Allison had 37 yards and a score on six carries.

Pennington also got touchdowns from Luke Cassity, Ethan Williams and Cameron Allen.

Cassity led the defense with 11 tackles while Jaxon Bullard had 10 stops and an interception. Travis Haynes had a 48-yard interception return for a touchdown.

J.B. Pennington improved to 8-2 on the year with the win and will host Lauderdale County (6-4) this Thursday in the first round of the playoffs.
