Will Patrick, 18-year-old son of Steve and Michelle Patrick (all pictured at right during signing), signed a golf scholarship with Louisiana Tech on Nov. 14. Patrick is a senior at Oneonta High School where he has earned six letters in golf over his highly successful high school career.
He was named an AHSAA All Star and an AGA medalist in qualifiers for both 2018 and 2019. In 2019, he was the AHSAA state championship individual runner up in class 4A. He also fired a two-under 70 in the 103rd Alabama State Amateur Championship Sectional Qualifying round, earning him co-medalist honors.
“We’re extremely excited to announce the addition of Will to our program,” said head men’s golf coach Matt Terry. “In addition to him being a super talented golfer, he’s a really exceptional student and just a quality individual. We can’t wait to get him on campus and see what he brings to our team.”
Patrick selected Louisiana Tech over Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Alabama, Jacksonville State, and North Alabama.
“I developed a really strong relationship with Coach Terry throughout the recruiting process,” Will said. “This just increased my interest in the program. The program’s home course in Squire Creek and a warm atmosphere in Ruston helped finalize my decision.”
