Parsonage proceeds benefit missions

Easley Baptist Church, represented by Toby Hollingsworth (right) presented $134,000 to Doug Medlin (center), stewardship advisor for ministry advancement of the International Mission Board (IMB), and his wife Marcy (left) at the conclusion of church services on Sunday, Sept. 30.

The church sold its parsonage and members unanimously agreed to donate the proceeds of the sale to missions with the additional goal of honoring the memory of those church members in years past, as well as those still present, who had donated time, effort, money, land, and other such demonstrations of loving commitment to God and to the church. The money will be used by the IMB to supply Bibles to those living in East Asia in their “heart language.”
