Oneonta, Southeastern, and Susan Moore knocked out of regional tournament

The stay in the North Regional Tournament was a short one for the three Blount County high school volleyball teams that played in Huntsville last week.

All three teams – Oneonta, Southeastern, and Susan Moore – were swept out of the tournament in straight sets in the first round.

2A: Southeastern had the misfortune of drawing powerful Addison in the first round and the Lady Bulldogs knocked off the Lady Mustangs, 3-0 (25-3, 25-5, 25-5).

Addison went on to cruise through the regional without dropping a set to qualify for this week’s state tournament.

3A: Susan Moore got behind early and couldn’t catch up as the Lady Bulldogs fell to Lexington, 3-0 (25-10, 25-8, 25-10).

Lexington was knocked out in the next round by West Morgan.

4A: Oneonta played well early but gave away too many points to Deshler and fell 25-19 in the first set. From there, it was all Deshler as the Lady Tigers took the next two sets, 25-6 and 25-10.

Deshler fell to Danville in the semifinals but qualified for the state tournament and beat Brooks in the third-place game. All-County Volleyball
