Oneonta BP station robbed

The Oneonta Police Department is investigating the weekend robbery of an Oneonta convenience store.

Oneonta police chief James Chapman said a black male entered the Oneonta BP station on U.S. 231 Friday evening and purchased candy with change. Later, the man returned to the store, showed the female clerk a pistol, and took the cash drawer.

Chapman said that video surveillance from the in-store cameras is being used in the investigation. Authorities are searching for a black male who appears to be from 5’7 to 5’10 in height and in his early- to mid-20s.

Footage from the incident was expected to air last night on the “Crimestoppers” program on Birmingham’s CBS 42.
