Celebrating seven decades of memories, 840 months of happiness, 3,652 weeks of love, 25,567 days of wisdom, 613,608 hours of laughter, four children, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, Alfred and Robbie Burgett are ‘one amazing couple.’ They celebrated 70 years of marriage on Dec. 24.
Alfred and Robbie were introduced to each other through a co-worker when he worked at Vulcan Rivet and Bolt. According to the family, they had their first date at Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman, and it was love at first sight.
Their granddaughter, Kesley Hill, was married in May 2018, and they offered this advice to the newlyweds for a happy and long marriage:
Grandmother said, “Always put God first in your relationship, always include Him in everything you do. Stay true to each other.”
Granddaddy said, “It’s okay to disagree and have different opinions, but don’t dwell on the small things, and always love each other through it all (good and bad times).”
Hill said of her grandparents, “They are the sweetest couple and loved by everyone who meets them.”
Ed. note: Sadly, Alfred passed away unexpectedly prior to this dedication going to print.
