OES celebrates first National Honor Society induction ceremony







Oneonta Elementary hosted its inaugural National Honor Society ceremony on Monday in Eris Horton Auditorium. One hundred and thirty one students in grades 4 - 6 were inducted into the society. Students were chosen based on their performance in scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Each inductee was presented with a yellow carnation and a certificate after being tapped by a National Honor Society member from Oneonta High School. Guest speaker Matt Scott of Oneonta First Baptist talked about character before the students were dismissed to attend a reception for the inductees and their families. – Nicole Singleton
