In the championship Saturday night, the Lady Bulldogs faced the Lincoln Golden Bears. The Lady Bulldogs came out on top 6-2. Perkins scored five goals and Cervantes scored one.
“This team is exciting to coach,” Coach Nick Butts said. “When you have a team who plays the game having fun and players who believe in each other, it’s exciting.”
The Lady Bulldogs are 6-0 on the season and ranked No. 3 in Class 3A. They are off to their best start in the program’s history.
“When you have people up top who can go score and distribute the ball around and when you have one of the best defensive groups around (Audrey Lauderdale, Samantha Zavala, Mia Martinez, Lizbeth Reyna, Maricarmen Gonzalez) who’s playing lights out, you’re gonna be winning big games.” Butts said. “I like our sub rotation which consists of JoAnna Saenz, McKayla Pruett, Adalid Campos, Briley Dutton, and Fernada Chavez. I feel like we have everything in place to make a big run and to continue our success.”
