HELP FOR CHIEF BAXLEY Several fundraisers have been scheduled in Blountsville with benefits going toward town police chief Ray Baxley’s medical expenses: (1) collections at the stoplight Saturday, April 9, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.; (2) spaghetti lunch at the Methodist church hall Sunday, April 10, between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. at $5 a plate; (3) musical benefit with barbecue and live entertainment at Blountsville Elementary School lunchroom Saturday, April 16, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. (presale tickets available at many sites in town); and (4) co-ed softball tournament at the ball park with community picnic featuring live entertainment and bake sale in midtown Saturday, April 30. In addition, any Superior Bank will accept donations made to “C.R. Baxley Medical Expenses” account. FARM DAY SALE will be held Saturday, April 9, from 8 a.m. till 12 noon at Susan Moore Community Park. Everyone is welcome. Yard sale items will be offered, and donations will be accepted to help keep the park clean.
