BLOUNT COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION will have a disciplinary hearing Feb. 25 at 8:30 a.m. The board meeting will be March 1 at 1 p.m.

BLOUNT COUNTY EDUCATION RETIREES will meet at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at Charlie B’s in Oneonta. Barbara Belisle, an education retiree and author, will entertain with storytelling. The group will be finalizing its May trip and members will need to pay deposits.

SOLID WASTE AUTHORITY of Blount County will have its quarterly meeting today, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. in the chambers of the judge of probate if available, in the commission’s chambers if not. Anyone interested in attending may phone Bob Shows at 204-680-0009 for information.

BLOUNT COUNTY VOAD will meet Tuesday, March 30, between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Blount County EMA office in the courthouse. The regional VOAD meeting is being held today, Wednesday, Feb. 24, between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at the United Way of Central Alabama, 3600 8th Avenue South, Birmingham.

BLOUNT COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY will meet Thursday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. at the Frank J. Green Building in Oneonta. Gene Ponder, Alabama candidate for lieutenant governor, will be featured speaker. The public is invited.
