HAYDEN LIONS WILL SPONSOR BREAKFAST Saturday, Feb. 7, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Hayden Elementary School cafeteria (the old middle school). Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for ages 10 and under. The menu includes eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, gravy, biscuits, pancakes, jellies, jams, syrup, coffee, milk, and orange juice. Hayden Lions will use proceeds from the breakfast to continue their support of sight and diabetes programs on the local and state levels. The club contributes to local schools, a community Christmas fund, local fire departments, Habitat for Humanity, house-fire victims, Camp Seale Harris, East-West baseball, Department of Human Resources, LCIF, Hearing and Speech Industries for the Blind, Blount County Education Foundation, ARC, and other worthwhile community projects. TOWN OF LOCUST FORK TAKING BIDS for a one-year landscape and maintenance contract to commence March 1. The successful bidder must provide its own equipment and fuel and provide proof of general liability, workers compensation, and vehicle liability insurance. Sealed bids must be received before Friday, Feb. 6, at 4 p.m. by hand delivery at 34 Town Hall Road, Locust Fork, or by mail to P.O. Box 67, Locust Fork, 35097. All bids will be opened at the council meeting Feb. 10 at 6 p.m., and the successful bidder will be announced at the council meeting Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. Call the town clerk at 681-4581 for more information.

The town is also taking bids for operation of the concession stand at Locust Fork Park. Baseball and softball practices and games run from March 1 through May 30; football practices only run from Oct. 1 through Nov. 15. Bids should reflect weekly rent, to be paid in advance, and a security deposit will be required. Sealed bids are to be sent and accepted as stated above except they must be received by Feb. 17.

FEBRUARY ANGEL FOOD ORDERS World Outreach Center, 2115 Second Avenue East, Oneonta, will receive February “Angel Food” orders Wednesday, Feb. 11, through Friday, Feb. 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Oasis Bookstore. You may also order online at www.wocusa.com at any time through Feb. 13 at 5 p.m. Everyone is eligible to get the approximately $50 worth of groceries for $30, regardless of income or age.
